Hello Darling! Need a cuppa?

Hello Darling!

This is my next to last card for the Spring Coffee Lovers’ Blog Hop.  Be sure to join us as the cards are amazing as well as the sponsors.  You have one more day to play.  There are lots of great sponsors so you can win by entering your cards and by commenting on blog posts!!  =)

I used Mocha Moments for this card.  We needed some cards to give Starbucks Gift cards to for the Children’s Ministry leaders.  They work so hard!  Here they can take a moment to rest and relax with a cuppa!  The paper on the card is retired CTMH paper but one of my favorites, Blossom so I kept a stash.  😉

Use CTMH watercolor pencils and paper for the image.  Memento in for stamping which is not suppose to bleed when you watercolor but looks like it might have in some places when I went back over the watercolor pencil with the small watercolor brushes we have that already have the water in.   I added additional color and shading by pulling the color off the pencil, then adding to the image.   I took the glue pen and added sparkle to the steam coming off the cup of coffee and Liquid Glass on the coffee.  Waxy flax from my stash.  Dreamin Big Sequins with the Sugar Rush Dots in the middle.

We all need a moment of peace and quiet on the couch, right?  Here’s to all of the ladies in the Children’s Ministry at the MACC!  I hand it to them as they do a marvelous job and our daughter loves them.

Take Life One Cup At A Time….it’s necessary

Take Life One Cup At A Time…..

Life can be really crazy and this little hedgehog mirrors my thoughts of being in a hammock, just drinking some coffee or tea, if you please.  I’ve been collecting stamps since 1987 which I suppose, dates me a little bit.  I pulled out this Penny Black stamp from 2000 “Nap Time” (I got this stamp back in Guam).  It’s so nice outside today, I felt like I could be in a hammock and take a nap!  This little hedgehog is me today.

The Penny Black Stamp does not have a cup on it so I borrowed a cup from another Penny Black stamp set “Mocha Moments” from 2015.  I got it from Simon Says Stamp.    I used my CTMH ink pads and a watercolor brush to color this.   I need to do this more often.  I have a wonderful collection of stamps that bring me smiles as I remember why I got them.

I stamped with Memento Ink on the CTMH Watercolor Paper (which really does make a difference).  On the cup, I colored it in and then went over the heart with the CTMH Shimmer Brush (like Wink Of Stella but way better for a few reasons – mainly more juice for less money)!  I put Liquid Glass over the heart and coffee to make them stand out a little more.

I’m showing this image for my friend Connie Estes who is a good friend from Guam.  Her husband Tim was a bee keeper  (as well as my personal locksmith because I kept losing my keys) before he passed recently.  I got this stamp in Guam and the bee reminds me of the awesome friendship I made there.  Connie and Tim both LOVED their coffee.  Tim leaves a big space here on Earth.  On the inside of the card, I used another sentiment from the “Mocha Moments” set.

I bet you all can guess who will be getting this card.  =)

Don’t forget about our awesome planner!

The 2017 planner is fantastic.

The versatility is great.  While I won’t be using it for a planner, I will be using it as a journal for the Bible Studies I participate in.  I do like the coloring portion and how I can watercolor parts of the planner (the month pages).1612-maincarousel-planner-d-us

I’m starting to plan out or design my January month because, gee it’s only a few weeks away.  So crazy.  The planner pages are done horizontal which is why I decided to keep track of some thoughts or things that struck me as important when I was studying.

Here is using the watercolor pencils for August yet using the markers for the page on the left under January.  Here’s what the bundles are:

I love the binders.  They are so soft and squishy (almost sounds like Charmin here).  They emboss well and you can personalize them with vinyl.  You can purchase the pages separately if you have a binder already. This is a nice option.

The card was inspired by this sketch:

FMS Final 223-001

I used our watercolor pencils to color in the stamps.  I took a watercolor brush and lightly went over the coloring with a damp brush to blend the colors.

A valentine for someone I adore

This valentine was inspired by the Sunday Stamps color challenge and the Mojo Monday Sketch for this week:

MM429 SSC117 Valentine's day card wm

Here’s the color challenge and sketch:

I created the background with watercolor and then flicking the watercolor brush over a semi-wet background to get the spots. Because of the dampness, you can see the spots spread out a bit!

I embossed the heart in gold to go along with the Desert Sand in the color challenge.  Really like how this turned out.  This is an old set which I’ve kept because I love the heart.

Then I dry embossed the pink cardstock and sanded the top of it to bring out the white core.

They had this cute little flower on the sketch..I wanted to keep the watercolor look so I did some watercolor, waited for it to dry, then stamped this cute flower on it.  I fussy cut it out.  Really like how this turned out and it’s nice to see some Spring colors! As it’s 13 degrees right now….Spring is looking really, really nice! Thanks for stopping by!

Orange You Sweet!

My friend Di brought over a card sample and I took the design of the card and created “Orange You Sweet”.  The cards are totally different.  It’s really amazing to me how different people can interpret a design and come up with totally different cards!

TOS Card 1 wm

Anyway, this card features the Taste Of Summer Papers and Stamp Set, both of which I love!!

1505-cc-nsm-papers-us_castamp images

I embossed the white cardstock with a Versamark pad and white embossing powder.  I used various reinkers and my water pen (which CTMH no longer sells but I still love) to create a water color background.  I did not leave the paper under a heavy book long enough for it to dry flat, which I should have done.

TOS Card 1 WM CollageI stamped using a “rock and roll technique” to get the different colors on the fruit (always start with your lighter ink first).

TOS Card 1a wmI covered the inside of the fruit with a lot of liquid glass.  I let them dry overnight to be sure they were dry before I added them to the card.  I liked how the card opens up.  It’s different and fun.  I had some lime colored bakers twine in my stash which I used to finish it off.

Hugs and Happy Creating!

Mojo Monday 368

Mojo Monday 368 posted up  and it’s another great sketch.  I had fun with it.  I’m in the process of creating several cards (15 to be exact) for a “Come and Play Card Buffet).  Mojo Monday’s have been a fantastic help in creating the cards.  Here’s their sketch:

mojo368My card is created with one of my favorite stamp sets featuring a Christmas Tree which I embossed with white embossing powder.

CC1015 HW Card1 WMI took CTMH reinkers and the blending pen to create the watercolor effect.  Wipe of the white embossing to make it stand out.  I used up some retired Sparkle and Shine paper for the card.  You can make this card at one of my Come and Play Card Buffets (CPCB)!

For class, we’ll use a different Christmas Tree set.

Have a creatively blessed day!
