Happy Birthday Little Dreamer

Happy Birthday Little Dreamer

I’m working on using my scraps up and you know, I’m always have those sheets of cards left in the paper pack if I’m not doing pocket scrapbooking.  I used two of them to make this card and a card design I got from Unity Stamps.  The gold glitter paper and transparency are from my shaker card party.  =)

  • You will need to cut your card base from a larger piece of cardstock because the score/fold is on the 4.25″ side at the 5.5″.
  • Trim down one of the 4″x6″ cards to 4″x5.25″ and put the front of the card.
  • Then cut 1 1/2″ from the bottom of the card, set aside to use later, and leave 1 1/2″ from the top of the card.

  • Glue the transparency – cut to 4.25″ x 5.5″and glue under the top part of the card.
  • Glue the bottom 1 1/2″ piece that you saved and glue on the bottom of the transparency.
  • Take the striped card that’s 3″x4″ and put in the center of the card, over the transparency and overlapping the top and bottom of the card.   You’ll be able to see the transparency on the sides of the card.

  • Use two strips of gold glitter paper.
  • Stamp and cut out both the Unicorn and the banner.
  • Distress the banner with Thistle Ink.
  • Add googly eyes.

  • Stamp a unicorn on the inside of the card, underneath the panel so it does not show (unless you want it to).
  • Stamp a sentiment on the inside.
  • Add googly eye.
  • Use the Gold and Clear Shimmer Brushes on the unicorns (I did gold on the body and clear on the mane, tail, horn, and nose).

The Little Dream Paper is a great deal of fun.  The colors are lively and so wonderful to play with after this dreary, crazy spring we’ve been having. The Little Dreamer Cardmaking unicorn stamp set has these dies to match so no fussy cutting = LOVE!!  Same for the Little Dream Scrapbooking rainbow set.  These makes your life easier.

Hello Shaker Card

Hello Shaker Card

This is one of the cards for the Shaker Card Party.  All the of the stamps, papers, and hello die cut are from CTMH.  The die cuts are 25% off this month! Woot, woot!  The shaker heart, die, and toppings (insides of the shaker) are from Queen and Company.

Using the “hello” die from above, I cut it both in Sea Glass and Black.  Doubled it up to create a shadowing effect.

I did discover that the glitter, while beautiful, tends to adhere it’s self to the transparency on the shaker.  This then blocks you from seeing the other fun things inside the shaker.  Here’s a side by side so you can see how it looks.  I won’t be adding glitter to my shakers anymore.

March is a great month!  Here are the links to all of the great specials:

  • All of  CTMH’s die cuts and stamps/die cuts combos are on sale for 25% off.
  • S1703 – Tea-rrific is an incredible Stamp of the Month for $17.95 or $5.00 with a $50.00 order.

You’re The Sweetest

You’re The Sweetest

I got this super cute card in my Seasonal Expression 1 swap.  Name was left off so I can’t give credit.  I just love it.  This doughnut stamp and die set plus the Sugar Rush can create so many amazing combinations.

I just love the colors in the paper.  The “sprinkle” paper from the Paper Pack was used to cut out the frosting and sprinkles for the doughnut. That sure saves time and makes the doughnut look great.  The rest of the paper patterns make great pennants.

Lately, I’ve been into white space on the cards and this is a good example of how you can take the white space and make it look fantastic.  Stamp the sentiment just above the pennants.  Use 3D Foam Tape (supplies below) used to give dimension.  Then add the wonderful new Sugar Rush Glitter dots to embellish and this equals sweet!

Thanks for stopping by my corner of the internet.  Have a sweetest day by spending time crafting!

Beautiful Card

I designed this card for a friend for a swap we did.  You’ll see more cards over the next few months from this swap.  This card features the Sugar Rush papers and collection along with the stamp set B1548 Journaling Prompts.

The donut and sentiment “this moment” comes from the Sugar Rush Cardmaking Stamp Set.  This set had the thin cut dies which makes using it “easy peasy lemon squeezy”!

Super cute, right?!

The technique in the card is stamping the image with two ink colors.  Start with your lighter color (Tangerine in this case) and add your darker color (Raspberry) on the bottom of the stamped image.

The polka dot ribbon is from the Enchantment Ribbon collection.  I liked how it looks a little like the sprinkles and picks up the red of the stamping.

Have a beautiful day!  Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day,

Happy Snowman

This happy snowman is super cute!

With it being so cold this morning a snowman card seemed appropriate. Brrr cold out there when I was walking the dogs.   This stamp set, D1695 Cozy Christmas, in the Holiday Expressions that can be purchased as a set with Thin Cuts, Z4008 Cozy Christmas.  I prefer to stamp the images first then run them through the Cuttlebug.  It does help to have a magnet platform to hold the dies in place.  I used the Oh Deer paper pack and colors for this card.

I used various Ranger Pearls and Stickles on the snowman, star,  and the holly to add dimension and bling to the card.  The one Stickles I used was a dimensional black rock-like gel, making the eyes, mouth, and buttons look more like coal.

On the snowman, I used our Shimmer Brush Z3293, which is an amazing value at $4.95.  It’s like a Wink of Stella however, it’s larger, has more shimmer juice, and costs less.  You can’t go wrong with getting this brush to have shimmer on everything!

Thanks for stopping by my corner of the internet on this chilly day.  I hope you enjoy this wonderful snowman.

Merry Christmas Oh Deer

Tis the season for Christmas cards!

This card is made from a sample from the 50 Card swap. We used it for our Holiday Come and Play Card Buffet!  I used the Z4015 Woodland Wishes Thin Cut bundle to create this card.  I love the clean cuts you get when cutting images out with the thin cuts.

There are a few layers in here to create dimension the card without creating the need for extra postage or hand postage.    The base is done with some natural cardstock that CTMH used to sell that I found in my stash.  I’m in a use my stash mode.

Cut a Colonial panel out so it’s nested or framed by the natural cardstock.  Tear the bottom Colonial so it looks like it’s snow.  Stamp the images you need to stamp and cut those out with the thin cuts.  Create the layers by laying the thin cut tree so it slightly overlaps the stamped tree.  Have the deer have one set of feet slightly under the torn cardstock and slightly over the top of it.

Stamp “Merry” on the bottom of left side.   Using 3D tape, pop up the tag title.  Thanks for swinging by to my corner of the internet. Stop by for more art through out the month.

Let’s Have some fun

Let’s have some fun with Carnival Fun, a stamp and thincut combo!  I love anything I don’t have to fussy cut.

IMG_2981 wm

Using the Magical Paper Pack (all supplies below), C1648 Carnival Fun and the matching thincut dies, Z3229, you can create this fun card.  I prefer to stamp my image first and then use the thincuts.  I purchased a magnetic platform for my Cuttlebug from Simon Says Stamps which holds the thincut in place when cutting.  I find this much easier than trying to stamp on the cut out image.

IMG_2984 wm

Use the different colored inks to do your stamping.  I love how clean the edges are from the thincuts.  Never in a million years, would my fussy cutting look this good.  The film strip is created by cutting a strip of the black background and texture paper (B&T) and then cutting out squares of the blue B&T.  Add a little dimension by using the thin 3D foam tape under the squares and stamped images.

IMG_2982 wm

Stamp “party” and “join in the fun” in Cranberry ink.  Distress the edges of the card and the yellow B&T.  Use a few sequins from the Magical collection to finish the card off.  Super fun and super easy.

Huge thanks to DeAnn B, one of my swappers, for the inspiration of this card!  Thanks for stopping by and have a fun day!

Happy Birthday!

It’s a Birthday Card.  Haven’t shown one in a bit and we have such great birthday stamps!  We are getting to the end of June and of the Florence Cards!

JL wm

This card features the Florence paper pack, along with the Bunch of Love Stamp and Thin Cut dies.   I like having the dies when I’m making a card or two.  So easy to pull out the set and dies, whip out a card and you’re done.  No fussy cutting or computers!  I still prefer my Circut for mass production.  =)

IMG_3008 wm

Use the water color pencils to color in, going over them with a wet brush to smooth out lines.  We have awesome water color paints, brushes, and you can use your reinkers to get the same look!  Awesomeness to have a variety of avenues to get a water color look.

IMG_3009 wm

Add some sequins and white shimmer take and you have a great card!  Who doesn’t have a birthday around the corner to give this card to? Thanks Jen L for the great inspiration.  I love my CTMH sisters.  It’s such a great community for support and inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by!
