Love Letters. Not just for big people!

Love Letters.  Not just for big people!

Here are my daughter and a neighborhood friend creating their love letters.  They were so different in their styles and I love what they did.  Both were able to express who they were as people in their crafting.  M was super busy, making her flowers and decorating from my stash:

SG on the other hand,  she put her letters together and look at the flowers.  She then looked at me and said “That’s too girly for me and that’s not me!”

She chose to add her name only to the letters.  I love how they could each express who they were on their letters.  Get yours today and create away.  Get more and have your kids play to.  What a great gift for a couple expecting to decorate a baby’s room.

Welcome Home Wreath

Welcome Home Wreath

This is my version of the Welcome Home Wreath.  Because I glued some things together before I really looked at the pictures (I highly recommend looking at the pictures with the written instructions to see the layers involved in the succulents), I ended up with some extra flowers which, in my humble opinion, turned out okay.

I decided to add some soft color, Pixie, to the roses.  They were too stark for me.  I like to dampen my roses before I roll them and I use water in a fine mister (our spray pens) along with some shimmer acrylic paint that CTMH used to sell.  I’m lucky enough to have a tube or two left.  Just takes a pea size drop in our misters to add shimmer.  For me, nothing is complete without glitter or shimmer (much to my husband’s dismay).

I just love the succulents on this wreath.  The green ones have a pretty pattern that almost reminds me of how aloe looks.  The blue ones, add some more color.  I worked my wreath a little higher on the right side (as you are looking at it) because I had the extra flowers.

I rolled the petals of the succulents with my piercing tool (this is a must have when you are paper crafting).  This gives them dimension.  I also did this to the leaves to give them dimension as well.

By distressed my flowers before assembling with ink and a sponge dauber (also knows as direct to paper distressing), I give them more dimension.  The colors used were Fern on the green succulents and Juniper on the blue succulents.

The most fantastic news about this wreath is it’s free with a $60.00 order on my website or if you join my team this month!  I love CTMH and have been with the company almost 17  years (March).  Crazy, right?  I joined because I loved the papers and albums for scrapping.  I  love watching my family look at the albums of our lives together, the laughter at some memories and even sadness as we remember a loved one who had gone.  With your purchase, you’ll enjoy the same papers and products I do.

If you join my team, you’ll enjoy getting the discount, joining a family of amazingly creative people.  CMTH is a place where people become friends and friends become family. I can’t image my life without CTMH!  Join in January and you’ll get the Welcome Home Wreath for FREE.  This is a great deal because you can join for $75 (it takes a $60 purchase to get the Welcome Home Wreath for Free), $15 more than a $60.00 purchase.  Joining is easy and affordable!  Each kit includes the basic business supplies you’ll need to start your business and is valued at over $200! Along with your kit, you’ll also receive $50 in Select Product Credit that you can use to purchase more supplies of your choice! That means you basically get to join for only $25!  You then will receive the discount of 22% on all of the amazing products that CTMH offers.  And it’s so easy to share the love of top quality products.

You can also watch this amazing video by the CTMH Corporate Office which demonstrates how to assemble the Welcome Home Wreath as well (don’t they provide such great support for us?).

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day.

Florence Mini Album and Flash Sale starts

Here’s a Florence mini album using the My Creations Kraft 3 Ring Album (all products used are provided at the end of the post):

Florence book

Don’t you just love the way it turned out.  I took a zillion pictures!!  The clusters of the Florence Compliments, Florence Sequins, and the Rose Gold Foil Tape just make this album stand out.

FA 1

FA 3

See how cute those are?  I have to admit when we first came out with the compliments I was a little unsure of them.  I really like creating the clusters and the added versatility of the product because it can be used for all crafts – scrapbooking, cardmaking, and paper crafting.  It’s not limited and this is really nice.

On the front, there is a little pocket with some inserts.  If it’s used as a gift, you can add a few notes to your friend.  If you are personally using it, note what’s inside the album when it’s on display.

FA 10

FA 7

You can see the Rose Gold Foil Tape just adds the perfect touch to the album cover.   When the book is opened, it looks like this.

FA 4

Another larger pocket on the inside cover.   In the Florence Paper Pack, you’ll see that you get one sheet of Picture My Life cards.  That sheet is cut up and the cards are used as inserts into the pocket on the cover of the album and in this pocket.  You can use the page protects designed for the Everyday Life Calendar in this album!

FA 5

The back of the album is simple.

FA 6

I think this Florence Mini Album turned out spectacular and I have to thank my friend April Smith for the wonderful inspiration.

Flash Sale will start today at 5:00pm EDT!!  Don’t forget to get online and check out the bundles and deals:

Supplies used:

Flowers with Happy Times Stamp

I have to do a quick post on the awesome flowers from the Happy Times Stamp Set.  While I have to fussy cut them, I love how you can shape them and give them dimension this way:

I use my piercing tool but anything round and even your fingers will allow you to roll/shape the petals and leaves.

Card 4b1

I found that I liked to distressed the edges of the cut flowers and leaves with a sponge dauber and ink pads.  I liked the shading and feel like it make my fussy cutting look better.

Here I added more layering by having the ribbon lay under the petal of one of the flowers.  With the base stamp for the flower laying flat and by rounding the petals of the flower, I think the flowers look great.  I added gems and/or sequins in the center of the flowers.

I also used a shimmer spray to shimmer to the leaves and flowers.  Don’t miss out on getting this Happy Times paper for free with a $60.00 order and the stamp set for $17.95.  You’ll also be able to get the SOM for $5.00 with this order AND cutting guides/directions for layouts and cards featuring the paper and stamps.

Charlotte Tissue Box cover

I got this every cute tissue box cover from my friend April Smith as a surprise.  I love it!

Charlotte Tissue Box f wm

She used Charlotte papers and “Our Story” Picture My Life Cards.

Charlotte Tissue Box wm

These are the sides of the box.  The gold Treasured Puffies are super cute accents along with the blue enameled gems for the centers of the flowers.

Charlotte Tissue Box b wm

The dimension on the box cover are 6.5″ x 6.5″ with a 1″ score lines completely around the end.  You’ll fold, then trim the corner, just that one 1″ so you can fold and adhere the sides to form the top.

Charlotte Tissue Box e wm

What a fun way to decorate a plain tissue box.  I like that you can match your decor or in my case, showcase a featured paper or product.  It’s another fantastic use for extra Picture My Life cards as well.   Everyone needs a tissue box cover!

Always Be

“Always Be” came to be after I got these great dies from Simon Says Stamp which make the shape look like it’s stitched!  Gotta love it!  I got three sets of shapes along with this stencil.  I was looking at it and got inspired from the stencil and a tutorial from Stamp Nation about using textured paste!  I think they had a different name for it, like embossing paste.  Any whoo..

I created this sweet card with a Lili of the Valley stamp (the girl) and Close To My Heart D1627 Your own Kind of Wonderful.    I used Ranger Textured Paste, a stencil, and a palette knife to create the background.

You put the stencil down over the area you want to cover.  Smear the paste on with the palette knife.  Lift the stencil up carefully.  I covered with prisma glitter while it was wet. If you want to see more about this, see Stamp Nation’s tutorial.

Don’t you just love the layers from the Nesting Die?  I got them because of the stitching around the ends that I don’t have to do!!  It makes for an awesome look!!  I used 3 of them to create the layers on this card!  CTMH paper works so well with all your crafting products.  Be sure to try it out!  =)

FMS 190 Like You A Latte

Here’s my take on Freshly Made Sketches 190 (FMS 190): Like You A Latte!  It also works for the Heart2HeartChallenge – to create a man’s card.  I made this for my husband for Father’s Day.

All product are Close to My Heart except the Stickles I dug out a very old stamp set – Coffee Stain. We love all things coffee in our house so I tend to keep these sets long past their retirement date!  I used one of my favorites from the Seasonal Expressions, C1616 Treats of Friendship:
