Happy Wishes on Valentine’s Day

Happy Wishes on Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day.  If you are not spending it with your favorite loved one, I hope you are planning to spend time with friends or having  special day to celebrate you!  Created with the Bashful Glitter Paper (on sale), this simple card sends a sweet message to a new couple for happy wishes on their special day.

Pink is not really my color.  Since Pretty in Pink in the special this month, I’m doing some creating with pink.  The pink glitter paper along with the silver paper creates a very elegant look.

With the silver paper, emboss it with the rose embossing folder.  It was really bright so I took a piece of vellum and embossed it so it matched the silver paper.  This softened up the look immensely and I was really pleased with the look.

The sentiment is from one of the Circut Artfully Sent stamp sets.  I love the this sentiment stamp set.  Matting the sentiment piece on some silver gave the card just enough of the shiny bling.  Add the Bashful Pearls (also on sale!) to finish the card off.

Have A Sunny Day with Making Waves

Have a Sunny Day with Making Waves

Here is a very simple card using a black and white base, a sentiment stamp, some Cricut cut butterflies, and some embellishments.  The font of the sentiment stamp is nice and thick. It stands out well as the sole stamp on this card.

The butterflies are from Close To My Heart’s exclusive Circut Cartridges, Artbooking and Artisty.   The embellishments are from the Making Waves Sequin and Gem’s collection.

The Bashful Shimmer Brush was added over the top of the Making Waves background and texture paper.  This shimmers through the butterfly cut-out on top of the base.  It’s very subtle bling.  This card will be on the Card Buffet this Spring.

Don’t forget the Pretty in Pink Sale!

All things pink are on sale 25-30% off.  Bundles are the best deal so don’t miss out.  Some of the pink is already gone.

February things to keep in mind:

Thanks for stopping by to checkout my creative world.  Have a sunny day!  It promises to be fairly warm today.  Maybe we’ll see some sunny weather to dry out all that rain we’ve gotten over the last 48 hours.  If you need some creative help,  I’m here to help you out – email me: info@lindacreates.com.

Sunny Day

Sunny Day

Check out this simple card using Chelsea Gardens Paper and the February SOM – Sunny Thoughts S1802. Use your Cricut to cut out the scalloped circle and the circle stamping.  Juniper is the ink color for stamping the sentiment.

The card design is simple.  Cut a panel base of 4″ x 5.25″ of Juniper cardstock.  Choose your favorite background and texture patterns from the paper packet.  Even though these colors in Chelsea Gardens are “cool” colors, they speak of Spring and sunny days to me.  I am so ready for Spring right now.

Finish off the card with the Light Gray Ribbon and some embellishments.  Take a look at the embellishments.  They are the Chelsea Garden Dots and Gems.  Look at how they are marbled!  This is the first time we’ve had gems like this and I hope to see more in the future.

Best Deal:

Purchase the February SOM Sunny Thoughts  for $5.00 with a $50.00 purchase and get this card kit free.  It’s cut and ready for stamping.  There are 5 cards in each kit.

I did my cards a little differently for fun and this will be the kit contents.  Making Waves Shimmer Trim instead of Silver.

Star Cards

Star Cards

Check out these awesome star cards!  Just love them.   They have been popping up all over the boards so I just had to try and make them.  The inspiration for them comes from this YouTube video:

I did the template version and then hopped over to Design Space to create a cutting file for this.  Probably will add one of these cards to the Card Buffet so I need it to be able to cut fast.  In addition, I made it so it will fit in an A5 envelope for convenience sake.  The first card is made with Chelsea Gardens Paper Pack and the Chelsea Garden Cardmaking Stamp Set.  Beautiful.  All the stamping is done on vellum and heat embossed with silver.  Use the Shin Han Touch markers to color the vellum pieces.

The second card is made with the Gimme Some Sugar Paper Pack.   The coffee cups and sentiment are cut from the Cricut so there is no stamping on this card.  Gimme Some Sugar looks wonderful with the kraft papers.

I’ll come back and do a longer post on the hows.  The cards were so fun and easy once in Design Space I just had to share.

February things to keep in mind:

Thanks for stopping by to checkout my creative world.  Truly a fun card, this star card is sure to wow your friends.  Be sure to catch the next card buffets because there will be only 10 cards!   If you need some creative help,  I’m here to help you out – give me a call or email me: info@lindacreates.com!!

You’re The Best

You’re The Best

I created this card for a swap and it’s also on the Come and Play Card Buffet.  Because mass production was involved, I’ve created a Design Space file to ease my cutting.   The paper pack used is Gimme Some Sugar (how cute is that?) along with Zesty Best.

The image is watercolored with ink pads: Lemon, Juniper, Tangerine, and Blossom using a small round watercolor pen.  I love that it’s loaded with water and you wipe it off a few times between different colors.  While closed, squeeze the top of the lid to the ink pad and open.  You’ll have ink in the top of the lid on the palette for watercoloring.   I did a “swipe” method, where I just swiped the color on and did not worry about getting the entire area covered.  If I wanted a little more color for shading, I did a smaller swipe.  There are some white highlights here and there.  There is a more whimsical look that goes well with the Gimme Some Sugar Paper Pack.

Once dried, take the Gold Shimmer Brush and go over the fruit, berries, and word “Best”.   Add a few bitty sparkles to the card and it done.   If you want to create this card and purchase the supplies (stamp set and paper pack) from me, I’m happy to supply you with the Design Space file.   If your order is over $25.00, you’ll be eligible to get Happy Mail and a free workshop guide from my collection (see my FB group to see them all).  I’ve just added 5 more and 3 more on the way.

Let Love Grow

Let Love Grow

This card can be used to celebrate anywhere that you see love growing.  Using the Whimsy Fundamental Paper Pack(retired), White Shimmer Paper, Memento Black Ink and a Shin Touch Marker Sap Green, you can create this card.  The Whimsy Paper Pack will make it easy to to switch color combinations around to match weddings, baby showers, engagements, any event where love is growing.

To make this card:

  • Cut 1″ off the front right side of the card.  Place your striped paper (5.5″ x 2″) on the left side of the card with a 5.5″ x 1/2″ strip of the white glitter paper.  There should be a white edge of the card about .75″ to the cut part.
  • On the inside of the card, mount the polka dot paper (5.5″ x 1.5″) on the right side.  This shows through because you’ve trimmed off the 1″ from the top of the card.
  • Stamp the “Good Seed Co” on a one of the watercolor background papers.  Stamp “Let Love Grow” in the center.   Color in the leaves with the Sap Green marker and mount on the Sweet Leaf card stock.
  • Mount this so that it’s over hangs the cut off part of the card.  It’s centered.

Add a few bitty sparkles through out the sentiment piece to add a little bling.  Simple and fun.  The January Stamp of the Month S1801 Bloom and Grown is awesome!!

When you purchase it for $5.00 with a $50.00 purchase, you’ll not only get Happy Mail, you’ll get this FREE card kit.  It’s all cut and ready to stamp to get your creating going.  =)   The guide will be emailed to you to create the cards.

Happy Thoughts

Happy Thoughts

Here’s one of the cards from the Studio Sus Cardmaking Workshop where you can make 30 cards with half a pack of the Chelsea Gardens Paper Pack. You’ll need a few other supplies that are listed below.  With a $25.00 purchase of the supplies needed for this workshop, you’ll receive the workshop guide FREE along with being in my Happy Mail Club!  =)  Here is the beautiful stamp and thin cut set used on the cards.

Love being able to use the thin cuts to cut out the images so I don’t need to fussy cut them.  Sure saves some and hand cramps.

The background and texture paper is two sided so when making the cards, I opted to show off both sides of the card to change things up.  This way the cards all look different even if the pattern is the same.  This watercolored paper with the ombre look is one of my favorite sheets.

Season’s Greetings, Blog Candy, and Final Day

Season’s Greetings, Blog Candy, and Final Day

Where did this week go?  It’s the final day of the Winter Coffee Lovers’ Blog Hop.  Here are my last two projects for the hop plus some nummy chocolate and coffee for a lucky commenter.  My Season’s Greeting Card and Something To Perk You gift card holder are projects for teachers and people who work with SG during the school year and beyond.  We have been so blessed to have incredible support people who help SG to love learning and overcome some challenges.

CTMH created this awesome stamp “Christmas Paper Doll” and it has dies to match (thank goodness).   I remember having paper dolls as a kid.  It’s must as much fun now.  I colored in the leaves with pencils and did the holly with Liquid Pearls.  SG wanted to have “red streaks” in her hair for Christmas, so she has them.   I added a coffee cup for good measure as most teachers I know, live on it! =)  The sentiment is from Pretty Pink Posh and the cup from Technique Tuesday.

Next, I was creating some gift card holders for those lovely Starbuck’s gift cards.

The gift card holder is from Sugar Pea Designs. The bear and his cup, from CTMH.  He’s retired and will be forever one of my favorites.  The sentiment came from My Favorite Things Stamps.  Add Liquid Glass to his eyes and nose as well as the coffee to make them shiny.

Of course, I’ll get some of those super cute Holiday Cards from Starbucks, not my own, ancient card!  Just a small token of our appreciation for everyone’s hard work.

Blog Candy

If you are still hopping and have come to my blog on day 8, you deserve some amazing chocolate.  I found this great chocolate bar from Trader Joe’s and some lucky commenter will win it!  =)  I’ll draw a winner on Sunday evening from the commenters so you’ve got 3 days to make it here.

Be sure to stop and check out the Winter Coffee Lovers’ Blog Hop and even play.  There are some amazing artists and work on it as well as great sponsors.

You Warm My Heart

You Warm My Heart

My goodness, after waking up yesterday to 15 degrees Fahrenheit, this card is perfect!  It’s sure to warm your heart up and I love the color family to depict cold.  Using some blues (to go with COLD) and one of my favorite, retired stamp sets from CTMH, I created this fun card.  I think the paper came from Lily of the Valley.  The card base is made from Espresso (how appropriately named for the Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop) cardstock, 6″x 6″ – a 12″ x 6″, scored at 6″ and folded in half.

The cup is 2nd generation stamped in Pacifica, then silver heat embossed.  Same with the steam.  Fussy cut them both out.  Use a liquid glue and prisma glitter on the steam to make it all sparkly to go with the snowflakes on the purple background and texture paper.  Mount on the stitched circle (Simon Says Stamp).   “You warm my heart” is stamped in Black Archival Ink.

Cut various sized pennants from left over paper.  Those cute little snowflake sequins are from Kat Scrappiness!  Their iridescent look is so fun and compliments the prisma glitter on the steam.   Those wonderful purple glitter gems are a sneak peak at what’s coming in January from CTMH.   The other glitter gems are retired CTMH.  You’ll want to check those out for sure.  I promise super cute, fun paper to match them!!  😉

Stamp the inside of the card with Pacifica.  2nd generation the cup and then 1st generation with the words over the top.  I just had to add the prisma glitter on the steam!  It makes it more fun!  Be sure to stop and check out the Winter Coffee Lovers’ Blog Hop and even play.  There are some amazing artists and work on it.

Happy National Hot Cocoa Day!

Happy National Hot Cocoa Day!

What surprise to find out there is a National Hot Cocoa Day and I had the perfect set for this!  I got this cute set, Hug in a Mug, from my friend Mary who does Cardz TV.  My goal for this blog hop was to use scraps I have from making my other Christmas Cards!

The set has this cute snowflake cup of cocoa with marshmallows in it.   Using various left over scraps, I put this card together.  “Hug in a Mug” is a part of the stamp set.

Regular colored pencils in a blue that pulls out the blue in the Beary Christmas paper.  Bling up the card with Liquid Pearl in White on the marshmallows,  Prisma Glitter on the snowflake, Beary Christmas Enamel Gems, and red enamel hearts that I found in my scraps box.

On the inside of the card, I used the sentiment “Cocoa tastes best when shared with a friend!”.   Added a 2nd cup coloring it the same.  Added some more red enamel hearts to add to the sentiment of the card.  I thank my friend Mary for sending me this cute stamp set, so perfect for today’s hop.  Stop by to check out her other stamps – Cardz TV Stamps.
