Oh, the places you’ll go

Oh, the places you’ll go!

Cards like this are fun because I’m making them for someone who needs a card.  Our neighbor’s son is graduating today from high school and going to the University of Pittsburgh “Pitt”.  He wanted the card to reflect this part of his son’s journey.

This card shows the journey by showing his son is a graduate and going places.  The sentiment is from a retired set.  The hat is from this stamp set:

I used a free Pitt image from Google images which I printed on cardstock.  The Pitt colors was matched the No Worries paper collection which is the featured paper pack in June.  Tangerine is the color that was closest to the Pitt image I used.  The “Welcome” is from another retired stamp set that I’ve held on to and the image is stamped in Tangerine.  Fussy cut because it was faster than finding the Cricut Cartridge and getting it set up.

On the inside of the card, put a panel of Tangerine cardstock.  Stamp the sentiment “Hooray it’s your graduation day” in Archival Black ink.  Stamp a few of the hats and diplomas and cut them out to decorate around the sentiment.

Found some old star brads from the stash (yeah for using the stash) to add to the top of the hats.  =)

Mother’s Day with Hello Lovely

Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is a few months off, 3 to be precise.  However, one can never be too ahead because time just passes us by and we’ll be there before we know it.  This is another great card from the SE1 swap.  Didn’t DeAnn B do a great job?   The Hello Lovely paper is perfect for the woman in your life who is your mom or acting mom.  The stamp set is actually from the WYW Mother’s Day Cardmaking Kit G1122.

You can make some super cute cards for Mother’s Day from this kit.  And you can take the stamp set and use it with other papers.

Distress the edges lightly with ink to add dimension.  Love the Blush Ribbon – it’s beautiful.

This is a bit fun.  Stamp the “From Your Favorite Child” on the side stamping over the top of the brushed stamp.  Subtle but fun.  And some of our shimmer brush for a little shimmer.   It’s a great Mother’s Day card for the Mom in your life!

Thanks for stopping by!

Final Day of Boxing Week and Wedding Card

Final Day of Boxing Week Sale

If you thought about making jewelry, here’s your chance to get 50% off the supplies!  Here’s what’s on sale this today until 5pm EST:

Wedding Card

I have a few weddings coming up and I love this very elegant wedding card created by Brenda H from the 50 Card Swap.  Recreate it by using your embossing tool or score board to create the grid pattern and a sponge dauber to do the shading in the bottom of the squares.   I found it easier to have 2 scrap strips of paper to create the corner so I could daub without worries of getting ink where I did not want it.

I love the black and shimmer ribbon.  Creates such a look of elegance to the card.  Mat the sentiment with black cardstock.   On Your Wedding Day is a cute, simple set that you can use for years for any wedding events you might have both to scrap and send cards.

I love our thin cut hearts!  Cut from our red glitter paper, you get enough bling to brighten the card up and still keep it elegant.  Red hearts = Love.

Mystery Hostess – are you playing?  Don’t miss out

Emoji Card and Boxing Week Sale

Emoji Card

I think as we rush towards the New Year, 2017, away from the craziness of 2016, there are a lot mixed emotions.  This Emoji Card reflects this!  The Emoji Stamp set is perfect for the teens and young adults in your life.  Have you seen all the Emoji “stuff” out in the stores?

Anyway, I can’t take credit for this cute card as one of the 50 Card Swappers, Betsy G, created the design for the card.

Don’t you just love the little faces?  C1669 Emoji is the stamp set used.  I’m amazed at the new language in our culture.

Boxing Week Sale:

It’s a new day and new items.  There are lots of great embellishments available today until 3pm MST or until they run out.  Here’s what’s available today:

Be sure to check back at 3pm MST (5pm EST) to see what goes up next or wait for tomorrow’s post.  Enjoy the emoji card.

Oh Holy Night

Oh Holy Night Card

“Oh Holy Night” is one of my favorite Christmas songs and this M Stamp is retired now.  This card was inspired by my friend Krista Hershberger, a fellow consultant.  You can make this card in the Come and Play Card Buffet – the last one is Dec 18th (this Sunday).

I love, love our Star Thin Cuts!  There are three different sizes of stars.  The price point is amazing – $14.95 for the three AND they are on a magnetic sheet.  No cutting the dies apart.  You don’t have to buy have the magnetic storage sheet.  The price point is great for the three dies.  Add in the magnetic sheet and you’ll be hard pressed to find a matching deal on the market.  They store fantastically in our 6×6″ stamp envelopes.  The stamp envelopes store in two different organizers, the Large Organizer and the Acrylix Organizer.

I used the Black Shimmer Ribbon which has gold woven through out it.  This ribbon is great for some may different events with both cards and scrapbooking as black and gold can dress anything up.  The gold glitter paper is used to cut the stars out as well as the gold strip on the bottom of the card.

I felt like the black shimmer ribbon and gold glitter in the stamps and trim dressed up the “Oh Holy Night” stamp, celebrating the special event.  Thanks for stopping by my corner of the internet.

Angel Card for the Buffet

Hark the Herald Angels

This is an older retired stamp set from CTMH that I’ve held onto because I really like it.  With the Holiday Come and Play Card Buffet (last one is 18th of December),  we use our favorite stamp sets!

I was able to use a lot of scraps to create the pennants on the top of the card.  I knew I was keeping the scrap box for a reason!  =)   I love the gold glitter paper.

I used the shimmer brush to “color” in the stars and snowflakes on the angle, both the black and the negative images.  I used 3D foam tape to pop up the angel.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my angel card.   Come by on Dec 18th to make your last minute Christmas cards

Love me some Oh Deer

I wanted to take a quick moment to show you some of the different looks you can get with Oh Deer.  It’s really such beautiful paper that I might have to stash a pack or two in that “I’ll get around to it someday pile”!

Here’s some cute cards:

Here’s a scrapbook page that has nothing to do with the holidays.  Simple outdoor fun.  Oh Deer is sooo versatile:

And here’s another scrapbook page set up in a 12×12 shadow box frame (we used to sell these but you can pick them up at ACMoore or Michaels):

Stay tuned for the upcoming art from Oh Deer this month.  I’ve had way too much fun and just love this paper!!

Florence Circle Card

Circle Cards are unique and fun to make and receive.  Here’s one featuring Florence and the stamp set D1689 Firework Fun.

jh wm

Both are available from the Seasonal Expressions 2.  Firework Fun inspires a circle card:

You can easily create a circle card by using CTMH Cricut Cartridge Art Philosophy (retiring July 31, 2016).   The stamping and cardstock used for the base are Poppy.  Nice and bright, fitting for fireworks.

Thanks to Janice H for the inspiration for this card!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

LL wm

This stamp set (see below) is C1644 Beyond Awesome and it’s must have stamp set.  Someone in your life is awesome and you need to let them know.  Think of adding a smile to someone’s face today by dropping them a card in the mail or leaving it on their work desk.  Look at all these great sayings:

c1644 Beyond Awesome wmYou’ll use this set over and over as well as forever.  The pennant is stamped in Peacock.   The saying is cut out from the Cricut Artistry Collection.

Mount the pennant on Saffron cardstock.  The base panel is cut at 5 1/4″ by 4″ base.  The Urban background and texture paper is cut at 5″x 3 3/4″.  On the 5″ side, in the middle, make a straight cut.  The length of the cut will depend on the angle of the fold you want.  Fold over the sides towards the center, to create the triangle folds.  Great way to show off both sides of the background and texture paper.

Put the “awesome” Cricut cut over the center of the fold using thin 3D tape.  Then add the pennant.  The antique gold triangle studs are in clearance!  On the inside of the card:

Father’s Day

Father’s Day is around the corner and here’s a cute Father’s Day card that I received from my friend Besty G.  Isn’t super sweet?!  So sweet we added to the Card Buffet because everyone needs to have this card.

Besty G wm

Why do you need this card?  Because, even if you don’t have a father still with us, this card sentiment is easily swapped with any of the M sized stamps!  So you can make it a thank you card or a birthday card or even a get well card.  This is such a versatile card design.

With the Cricut and our amazing Cricut Cartridge collections, you can cut out most of the pieces of card from the pennants to the sentiment panel!  Design it on Design Space and off you go!!

The colors of the card are neutral enough for a guy card or your more laid back, outdoor, girl friend.
