Happy National Hot Cocoa Day!

Happy National Hot Cocoa Day!

What surprise to find out there is a National Hot Cocoa Day and I had the perfect set for this!  I got this cute set, Hug in a Mug, from my friend Mary who does Cardz TV.  My goal for this blog hop was to use scraps I have from making my other Christmas Cards!

The set has this cute snowflake cup of cocoa with marshmallows in it.   Using various left over scraps, I put this card together.  “Hug in a Mug” is a part of the stamp set.

Regular colored pencils in a blue that pulls out the blue in the Beary Christmas paper.  Bling up the card with Liquid Pearl in White on the marshmallows,  Prisma Glitter on the snowflake, Beary Christmas Enamel Gems, and red enamel hearts that I found in my scraps box.

On the inside of the card, I used the sentiment “Cocoa tastes best when shared with a friend!”.   Added a 2nd cup coloring it the same.  Added some more red enamel hearts to add to the sentiment of the card.  I thank my friend Mary for sending me this cute stamp set, so perfect for today’s hop.  Stop by to check out her other stamps – Cardz TV Stamps.

Sending Holiday Cheer

Sending Holiday Cheer

Working with Beary Christmas left me with some extra scraps from the Pictures My Life sheet (for pocket scrapbooking).  This bear holding presents reminds me of all the shoppers scurrying around the malls and shopping center.  Using an exacto knife to cut out the bear’s paw, I inserted a coffee cup.  Makes  him look like the rest of the shoppers running around on caffeine to get their errands done!

Matted the card on some Cranberry cardstock and Beary Christmas background and texture paper for the base of the card.  Stamp the sentiment (Queen and Company) on  a piece of white cardstock and make a banner.

Add some fun Beary Christmas Dots for some bling.  Go around the wreath and use Pearl Stickles over the top of the berries to add some depth.  The clear Shimmer Brush adds some fun to the ribbon.  Be sure to stop and check out the Winter Coffee Lovers’ Blog Hop and even play.  There are some amazing artists and work on it.

Warm Holidays and Blog Candy

Warm Holidays

Happy Monday Morning, right?  Not without our coffee!  Here’s the 3rd card for the Winter Coffee Lovers’ Blog Hop.  Using some left over papers from the first two cards, I created this shaker card.  Beary Christmas and the Kraft paper go well together.  Used the dies to cut out the circle out and some transparency sheet to make the window.  3D foam tape is wonderful for making making the space for the toppings in the shaker.  The topping are from Kat’s Scrappiness, the Jack Frost collection.

This cute bear comes from Punny Pals, CTMH’s Operation Smile Stamp Set.  $7.00 of every stamp set sold goes to Operation Smile, a wonderful non-profit that helps fix children’s smiles so they can eat, talk, and be a part of their communities.   The cap on the bear comes from a retired CTMH stamp set, Jack Cardmaking.  The little coffee cup and sentiment come from Pretty Pink Posh’s Christmas Friends.   Pretty Pink Posh is a Super Sponsor for the blog hop and I was lucky enough last Spring Hop to win this stamp set!  Now that I’m looking at the card as I blog, I’m going to go back and add some of the wonderful Beary Christmas Dots – the silver dots are glitter dots with the Cranberry and New England Ivy dots being enamel.  Just to add some bling.

The Magic

The Magic

Here’s my 2nd card for the Coffee Lovers’ Blog Hop.  I’m using mostly CTMH products/stamps (all retired) on this.   Kraft paper is amazing and a wonderful match for anything coffee.    I love Wreath Essentials which has a die for it.  Added some berries from Season of Magic.  Emboss in gold the sentiment.   The coffee cup is from Technique Tuesday Perk Up.

The coffee cups are stamped on the CTMH watercolor paper and then watercolored with the Espresso Ink Pad and the watercolor pen.

On the flower, after stamping in Cranberry, go over it in Gold Shimmer Pen.  If you like Wink Of Stella pens, you need to check out our shimmer pens.  More juice and shimmer, less money.  Win win.  Roll the petals to give it some dimension before you glue dot it down.  The old Florence sequins have four colors in the pack .  The red and copper with Gold Glitter Gems in the center makes for perfect embellishments!

Warm Holiday Wishes for the Winter Coffee Lovers’ Blog Hop

Warm Holiday Wishes for the Winter Coffee Lovers’ Blog Hop

Seems like we were doing the Fall Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop yesterday.  Today is the first day of the Winter Coffee Lovers’ Blog Hop.  My first entry is above.  A few hops ago,  I won this stamp set, Christmas Friends,  from Pretty Pink Posh!  I’ve been waiting for the Winter Hop to use the stamps and dies.

I used some stitched dies from Simon Says Stamps to create a the window for a shaker card.  A bit of transparency and 3D foam tape works great.  The background and texture paper is from CTMH Beary Christmas.  All the coloring is done with Shin Han Touch Markers.

The shaker contents are from Kat Scrappiness, Fun Flock to decorate the snow bank and edge of the girl’s hood, Gold Shimmer Pen for the coffee in the cups, and Liquid Glass over the top of the coffee to make it look wet.    Be sure to stop and check out the Winter Coffee Lovers’ Blog Hop and even play.  There are some amazing artists and work on it.

Tidings of Joy – DS File

Tidings of Joy – DS File

I’m making a few of these cards up for Christmas cards to send out some tidings of joy to a few friends. Working on getting them done and out soon.  =)    The CTMH inspiration:

I created this on Design Space and the file is below.  The stamp set from the Workshop Your Way Joyful Tidings:

The other paper comes from the Silver and Gold Paper Pack and the matching cardstock pack.  I love the gold embossed papers in this pack and it can be used outside of Christmas for sure.    Color in “Joy” in red with the Shin Han Touch Marker Carmine.  I wanted some color added to the card.

I used the Red Enameled Gems to bling up the card along with the gold stars that are cut from the Circut.  Layering the stars adds some great dimension without popping it up too much to provide bulk when mailing.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Here’s a simple but elegant card I made using the negative piece left over after I cut out the word “Christmas” with a retired thin cut die from CTMH.  I was cutting a bunch of these out and looking at the pieces.  Just by adding some glitter paper under the negative image, it makes the word pop.

I stamped “Very Merry” above “Christmas”.  Emboss the base of the card with a snowflake embossing folder (or any one of your choice).  When putting the layers together, use 3D Foam Tape to up up the negative cut for dimensions.

This is a great way to use your scraps and create a fast, elegant card for Christmas.

Our guest artist today is Norma Mahler from the Card Swap I host.  This card sets off the awesome Beary Christmas Scrapbooking Stamp Set with dies, Z4047:

And the Beary Christmas Paper Collection:

This is a Split Front Panel card so the card opens in the middle with the square panel being the closure on the card.  it’s layered over the top of the opening of the card.

The deer and Christmas tree are wonderful!  Just by putting the tree on top and the deer behind the panel, you get dimension in the card.  The red gems are retired however the Beary Christmas glitter gems will be amazing for replacing.   When you open the card, it looks like this:

Christmas Tunes

Christmas Tunes

The October Stamp of the Month is S1710 Christmas Tunes.  Hard to believe that it’s time for Christmas Card making, right?  Time has definitely flown this year.  Here’s the first of a few cards with this set.  Using the Very Beary Paper Pack (super cute) for the poinsettia paper as well as the other patterned paper used on the card.

Cuts:

  • Base Card 4.25″ x 8.5″, score at the 4.25″ mark and fold (make sure the fold is on the top.  Round corners of the card base and all the rest of the pieces.
  • Cranberry base is 4″x4″
  • Poinsettia paper is 3.75″x 3.75″
  • NEI Background strip is 3.75″ x .75″
  • Red Shimmer Trim is 3.75″
  • 2nd Cranberry Piece is 3.25″x 3.25″
  • Circle from the Fa La La paper (in the Very Beary Paper Pack) – 3″ – Cut on the Cricut.  Stamp in Cranberry Ink Pad.  Don’t forget our ink pads are now magnetic!  Color the leaves with Vivid Green Shin Touch.
  • Stamp “O Holy Night” in Fern and fussy cut.  Use 3D foam tape to  pop it up.
  • Adhere the Cranberry Panel 2″ down and centered on the cardbase
  • Embellish with Bitty Sparkles.  Color them with the Carmine Shin Touch Marker.  I did not do this but recommend doing it for future cards.

Red Shimmer Tape is great because it’s sticky tape and makes application super easy.  Adding glitter anything to a card adds the bling to catch the eye.

Finish off the card with bitty gems.  Now, looking at the card, I’ll go back and color the gems in red with our Shin Han Touch Markers.  The nice thing about clear gems and white pearls is you can make them any color you need them to be with the alcohol markers.  They dry fast!
