Do What You Love

Do What You Love

“Do what you love” is so very important, don’t you agree.  For the past 18 years, I’ve been a part of Close To My Heart (CTMH) because I love crafting and I want some of the best products for this.   We were relocating to Guam and I was honestly, in a panic about where I’d get my crafting supplies from!  I wanted to be sure I was able to get paper, stamps, and scrapbooks.   Getting them at a discount was just an added bonus for me.

From a simple decision to join CTMH (formally DOTS when I joined), I gained so much more than a discount.  I gained a community of amazingly talented artists to inspire me.  Friends, both as customers and consultants, who have walked 18 years of life with me.    We’ve laughed, cried, and created memories to last a lifetime.  You just can’t go wrong with this.   Look at this amazing kit you receive plus you’ll get a $50.00 CTMH Cash shopping spree to pick the supplies you want in your kit and a free Magical Paper Pack.  It’s really a “Consultant Kit Your Way”!   Did I mention that you get to pick your new supplies from the upcoming Holiday Expressions because consultants get a “preview” period where we can order ahead of everyone else!   The value is over $200.00 for an investment of $75.00 (over 60% discount).

Join our team, WWStampettes, this month and get the “Kit of the Month” for free!  You’ll only need to have the Stamp of the Month to create this cards.  The cards are cut and ready for you to stamp.  Embellishments are included!  =)

Here’s a sample of one of the cards, a different take on the same sentiment:

Scrappy First Home

Scrappy First Home

This card is Created from Central Park scraps, thus the name Scrappy first home. The background for the card is knotted on black I’m sorry Pacifica paper. The sentiment is stamps from the July stamp of the month s1807 Highlight Reel.

My friend Jon picked out the house and tree and I fussy cut them from a background and texture paper that had a variety of different houses on it.  I use 3D foam tape both the regular and thin to create dimension so that the tree look like it was behind the house a little bit.

With some leftover Gold Shimmer trim, Central Park sequins,  gold glitter gems, and gray twine, I was able to embellish the card.  The pile of left over embellishments is just as big as the scrap box!  LOL.  Twine is held down with the mini-stapler!  This is such a quick and efficient way to adhere the twine to the card.

July things to keep in mind:

Thanks for stopping by my corner of the internet.  This scrappy First Home card helped to use some of my scraps up.  =)

First Home

First Home

Here’s a card to help someone celebrate their first home.  Such a big step in life and accomplishment!  S1807 Highlight Reel is a great set for celebrating these first time accomplishments.

Use Fresh Air Paper on this card with some of the neutral colored cardstock, Toffee (front and back) along with Glacier.  Color in the windows and door of the house with the Shin Touch Markers.

Stamp the heart in cranberry which really makes it pop on this card.   The white ribbon and some shimmer brushes to add the finishing touches.

Remember my Kit of the Month, which features the current Stamp of the Month and is FREE when you order the SOM for $5.00 (with a qualifying purchase of $50.00).

Whimsical Day To Remember

Whimsical Day To Remember

Here’s a card I created using some scraps from the Whimsy Fundamental Paper Pack scraps, the July Stamp of the Month (SOM) S1807 Highlight Reel, and miscellaneous ribbon scraps.  My scrap box is getting pretty heavy and I need to start creating from this to start using it up (or donate it to the school again).   I have a few packs of the Fundamentals that I’ve used for various projects with some leftovers.

Start off with a black base.  Take a few stripes of scraps that work together and cut them down to 5″.  The width was based on what they already were in the scrap bucket.  Distress with matching ink.

Use two different ribbon scraps to add some elements and dimension to the card.  Stamp and cut out the sentiment from the July SOM.  Mount on 3D Foam Tape.  Use the Gold Shimmer brush over the top of the sentiment to tie in the gold from the ribbon.

July things to keep in mind:

Thanks for stopping by my corner of the internet.  Have a Whimsical Day to Remember.  Be creative.  It’s cheaper than therapy, LOL.

Day To Remember

Day to Remember

Here’s  card showing off the July SOM S1807 Highlight Reel and Fresh Air.  A great card to send off to celebrate someone’s first job.

Stamping is simple on this – use your favorite black ink pad.  I love using either Archival Black or Memento depending on what I’m going to do.  If I plan to watercolor or marker color, I use Memento.  It is less likely to bleed than Archival Black.  =)  With the solid sentiment, “day to remember”, I inked by turning the stamp upside down and using the inkpad to ink it (vs stamping the stamp on the inkpad).  I can make sure that the ink fully covers the stamp this way.

Finish off the card with a few Gold Sequins.  Be sure to use thin 3D Foam Tape to pop up the banner for a little extra dimension.

July things to keep in mind:

Thanks for stopping by my corner of the internet.  Someone’s first job is definitely a day to remember!  Have a creative day!

Friends Fur Ever

Friends Fur Ever

“Friends Fur Ever” is a Story by Stacey mini-album that my daughter did.  I created the front “belly band” of the album to hold it close.  SG did the rest.  I only want to share the cover at this point so you can see how I used the Stamp of the Month (SOM) – S1806 A Bushel and A Peck on it.   The little girl in the set is great to use for some many things, one of which is to represent SG in things we create.

I used a retired pet stamp set from CTMH as well.  I tried to color the puppy on the front like SG’s dog, Huck.  Love our Shin Touch Markers!  SG love our fur babies and wanted to tell the story of how much she loves and enjoys them.  She picked the pictures out and did an awesome job.   On another post, I’ll share how this can be a great project for you and your kids (or grandkids).

I can’t wait to see what the new Story by Stacy products are going to be.  I decided these would be a fun way to “write” a letter to SG each year, sharing my hopes, dreams, and prayers with her.  One day, I won’t be here to tell her how much she means to me.  With these cute little mini-albums from Story by Stacy, I’ll be able to leave her a love letter for each year of her life, celebrating what she means to me.

Thanks for stopping by my corner of the internet.  I hope you all have friends fur ever – our pets that you can celebrate their stories with these mini-albums

Rainbow Love

Rainbow Love

This sunburst card was inspired by our sale “Create a Rainbow”.  Did you see the price of a pack of rainbow cardstock?  Anyway, I can never have enough paper (well, my darling husband would disagree with me) and picking up a couple of packs lets me create some beautiful projects!  Grab your own pack and create this card!

Cut the strips 1″ by 5″ and 1″ x 7″.   Then you’ll cut those diagonally so you have several triangles.  The base for the sunburst is 5″x 3 3/4″.  The black base is 5 1/4″ by 4″.  Lay out the rainbow and glue down.  Trim off the around the edges and mat on the black.

Stamp the girl from the June Stamp of the Month, A Bushel and A Peck S1806.   Color in with Shin Touch markers.

She’s darling.  While SG would never wear a dress, she reminds me of her with the crazy hair and sweet smile.  =)  After you color, fussy cut out leaving a 1/4″ border of white.  Mount on black and fussy cut out leaving black border.  Mount in the upper right corner of the card using 3D foam tape.

Stamp the sentiment “I love you a bushel and a peck” on white cardstock and mount on black.  Adhere to the card base.

Add embellishments as you see fit.  I found some red enamel hearts and left over Florence Sequins to use.   Love to see your rainbow cards!  To encourage rainbow projects, here’s a great workshop you can get free when you purchase $25.00 of product from my website:

Thanks for stopping by my corner of the internet.  Enjoy a creative day!
