I’ll be Home…..

I’ll Be Home….

It seems very strange to be talking about Christmas right now but it’s only 2.5 months away!  Here’s a layout I created to be able to get working on getting some pages done. I made this for a team challenge that I gave to create something Christmas with the new “You Are Here” cartridge!  =)

You can only get the physical cartridge until we run out.  The other three add-ons are digital only.  I love that you get a full pack of our cardstock, which is now two toned.

The treas that have have what looks like the white overlay, are actually done in white glitter paper.   On the tree with the yellow star, I used Shimmer Brush to add some sparkle to it.

This house is so cute and one of two houses on the cartridge.  The white glitter paper give the illusion of snow.  I crossed the one set of trees to over lap the pages.  Put on the left side.  Trim.  Match up the pages and glue the remaining piece on to the left side.

The heart on the door shows love and going home for Christmas is exciting when you get to see friends and family who you haven’t seen for a bit.

To make this, you need:

Happiness in a Cup!

Happiness in a Cup!

This super fun card is “happy” because of all the bright colors and that for some of us, coffee is happiness.  Love the smell of fresh coffee beans and coffee brewing.  This card is linked to the Summer Coffee Lover’s Bloghop.  Stop and check out all the great cards. Better yet, whip out your own coffee project and join the fun.   It’s also made using the Freshly Made Sketches 292.

The papers are Prickly Pear.  The colors in the paper pack are nice and bright, just right for Summer.  Love the rainbow paper in the pack.

The sketch is simple and fun to make.  The dies for the circles are from CTMH.  The coffee cup is Sugar Pea Design’s Coffee To Go Cup die set.  The sentiment is from Stamplorations Coffee Happy.

 No Worries Family Layout

Wanted to share another great layout from the workshop you can get free when you place a $25.00 order.  Cocoa cardstock is the base for all of the layouts in the workshop and you can get it for 25% off.  The No Worries sequins and the Enamel and Glitter Blue Dots Duo add the bling to the pages.

The title “Family” comes from the No Worries Compliments.  The mix in the Compliments is kraft chipboard and stickers.  On the arrows, put a piece of the scraps from one of the background and texture papers.

You can add flip flaps – 4×6, 3×4 and 3×3 – to get more pictures on the layout.   Here’s some close ups of the different elements from the pages that I just love.  You always need a layout for family events.

Store these great layouts in our wonderful albums.  Get your albums this month Buy One Get One 50% off.  =)

Cup of Cheer Shaker Card

Cup of Cheer Shaker Card

In making the Shaker Card Party and doing the Spring Coffee Loving Paper Crafters Blog Hop, I combined the two and created three shaker cards to have available for purchase at the class.  I created the cards in Design Space using images from the CTMH Exclusive Cartridges as well as some of the free ones they offer.  The stamp set is a retired CTMH stamp set – Coffee Ring.  I tend to hang on to anything coffee.

I used Pixie cardstock for the base because it’s pretty “springy”.   Kraft paper just looks so right with coffee themed cards, I used it as the top of my card.  Get a box of transparencies from Staples to make the inside of the card.   some bright shaker toppings from both Queen and Company as well as Michaels.  Stamp the Pixie cardstock using Chocolate ink.  The saying is from a coffee stamp set, Caffeine Addict, from Sugar Pea Designs.

Now, I build the container for the shaker material with our 3D foam tape.  I used two layers of it so the beads would roll around better.  I have done one layer and you’ll see that in another post.  Two works better for more movement.  A lesson learned is figuring out how to build the well on the base and have it line up right.  Top down like I did, leave you trying to line up the card upside down.  It makes the Queen and Company Shaker Cards look quite lovely for the ease of making the cards!!  You can see that the shaker contents have plenty of room to move around.

To finish up, I used the Shimmer Brush to add shimmer to the letters in the title.  I used the Dreamin’ Big Sequins with gold glitter gems in the center for embellishments.   It’s a great card to send to someone not feeling well or having a down day or time in their life.  Well, everyone needs a cup of cheer.  =)

Love You More Than Coffee???

Love you More Than Coffee?

Here’s my second card for the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop.

This is made using the CTMH Exclusive Cricut Cartridge Artistry!  I love being able to create cards like this.  I received a similar card from a downline, Debbie O’Neal, who is a whiz at the Cricut Stuff.  In Design Space, I created this file to make coffee cup cards:  https://us.cricut.com/design/#/canvas/38515691.  If you do not have the Artistry Cartridge, you can purchase it here (and be in my Great Cricut Giveaway see end of post).

Sugar Rush is the paper for the cup and Kraft Paper was used for the protective wrap.   What goes better with coffee then donuts and Sugar Rush is an awesome paper pack for this.  Using Chocolate Ink, stamp “love you more than” on the wrap.  Distress the edges with Chocolate and sponge daubers.  The stamps and dies are from Sugar Pea Designs.

Take the heart cut out from the Kraft paper and put on the lid.  Use 3-D foam tape on the lid for dimension.  Sugar Rush glitter dots (aren’t they just yummy) add the bling to the card with red enamel hearts inside the hearts.   Come back tomorrow for a Coffee Shaker Card!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring Blog Hop

Coffee Loving Cardmakers Spring Blog Hop

Well, all the stars and planets aligned along with the coffee beans and espresso machine for this blog hop.  I had no major weekend events in March and could spend some time playing with my coffee stamps, dies, and Cricut!   I love and follow The Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog as we love coffee and espresso here at our house along with lots of tea.

My first card (yes first card) for the blog hop is this card featuring CTMH’s wonderful March Stamp of the Tea-rrific!
Isn’t this stamp set super cute??

The base of the card is made from Kraft paper.  Cut down the 12×12″ sheet to 8.5×11″, then cut in half.  Stamp the cup and saucer on Sorbet and Colonial White cardstock and fussy but them both out.  You’ll paper piece the the Colonial White cup onto the Sorbet cup and saucer.   The sequins are perfect additions to add subtle bling to the card.  Use the clear shimmer brush to add shimmer to the steam coming off the cup.

I used the Thin 3D foam tape to pop up the cup and saucer.  Because the card base is made with Kraft paper, I used a Colonial White piece cut 4″x 5.25″ and stamped an inside sentiment on it.

You’ll have to check out the blog posts for the next few days as I’ve got several cards to share along with a few of them being shaker cards as I play with using Design Space to create the fronts for these cards.  =)

Blessed Beyond Measure with Muse

I’m totally in love with S1609 Blessed Beyond Measure, the September Stamp Of The Month (SOM).  I’m created dozens of cards with it as well as layouts.  Here’s a card that is a mixed inspiration from one of my friend Karen Pederson’s creations and the Muse Challenge.

IMG_5219 wm

Here’s the Muse Challenge:

DSC_6912

My pumpkin is cut out of the Cricut using the Art Philosophy Cartridge (retired now but I have two left).  I stamped him in Tangerine which is a wonderful new color.  It’s very rich and vibrant.  It’s also one of the colors available in our new ink pad design (magnetic lids need I say more).  I then colored over the top of it with our watercolor pencils to get the shading.  The stem is done with  Smooch from Clearsnap.  Instead of going over the top with a watercolor brush I used the Shimmer Brush!

IMG_5220 wm

Close To My Heart now our own version of Wink of Stella called “Shimmer Brush”.  I’m beyond estatic about this because I go through Clear Wink enough that I was buying it by the case!

20160903_120512 wm

There are two great things about our Shimmer Brush.  First, the size if it.  It’s it larger than Wink of Stella which means you have more shimmer!  Is there every enough shimmer?  I think not.  Next is the price point compared to Wink Of Stella.    Wink of Stella is $6.49 on Scrapbooks.com to  $6.99 on Simon Says Stamps (one of my favorite online stores)and $7.88 on Amazon.  CTMH Shimmer Brush is $4.95, which is a fantastic price point for more product!  Don’t miss out on this deal.

20160903_120645 WM

I used our “Hello and Thanks” Thin Cut dies to create the “Thanks” cut out in black cardstock.

IMG_5221 wm

You can also see that I used some Silver Silk which I got from Fun Stampers Journey to create the splatter background.  Black Shimmer Trim added on the edge of the background and texture paper from Jeepers Creepers (my featured Paper Kit of the month).   Before putting on the pumpkin, I stamped the leaves and outline of the berries in Willow and Chocolate inks.  Then I stamped the berries in Raspberry ink.  I put Liquid Glass over the berries to make them stand out.  Then I put the pumpkin down with 3D foam tape.    I love the way it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my creations and  corner of the internet.  I hope you are inspired to create as I was from Muse challenge and my friend’s artwork.  Have a blessed day!

Creating Session!!

I’m working on getting some new samples done for the upcoming Open House in August so I had a creative session to get something done!   Bless the sketches and challenges. I’m so appreciative and glad of those who create these challenges for us.

The first challenge is from Mojo Monday 457. I used a pumpkin instead of a square for the sketch.

Here are some sneak peaks to new products.  I’m enjoying working with them. The next one is for the Atlantic Hearts Sketches Challenges 169:

You Are My Sunshine S1603

I really like the sentiment “You Are My Sunshine” the March SOM S1603.  I say this to my daughter all the time so I created this card using a sketch challenge from last month.

mm435 MarSOM Card 3 wm

I will give her this card, just as a “I’m thinking of you” card. This card was created following the post of the MM435 sketch back in February.

Mojo435I originally made the card like this:

mm435 MarSOM Card 3c wm

Then decided I did not like the way the background papers look so I recreated to be the first card. Better, huh?  Stamp the images in Memento Black Ink.  I did the coloring of the suns and butterflies with a watercolor technique. I used the top of my ink pad by pushing down on the cover of the lid a few times. Ink gets on the top of the lid. When you open it, you can see it. Using a watercolor brush, you add water to the ink and paint with it.  I used Thistle and Pixie on the butterfly.  I used Canary and Sunset on the sun.

mm435 MarSOM Card 3a wm

I fussy cut out the butterflies.  I used a gel clear glitter pen to add some subtle shimmer to the the words and to trace over the black outlines.

mm435 MarSOM Card 3b wm

This is a great card for anyone who is a sunshine in your life.  I think we’ll use it for the Come and Play Card Buffet.  Thanks for stopping by.
