Do You Know The Colors Of The Rainbow?

Do You Know The Colors Of The Rainbow?

“Do You Know The Colors Of The Rainbow?” is a song done by Signing Times (a great series to teach kids sign language) that just sticks in your head.  I was humming it while making this wonderful workshop from Studio Sus:

This one just makes my heart happy inside with the bright colors.  Best of all most of the product used in this workshop is on sale!  Best deal right?

This workshop is a nice mix of scrapbooking, cardmaking, with some stamping and thin cuts if you choose to do so.

Rainbow Love

Rainbow Love

This sunburst card was inspired by our sale “Create a Rainbow”.  Did you see the price of a pack of rainbow cardstock?  Anyway, I can never have enough paper (well, my darling husband would disagree with me) and picking up a couple of packs lets me create some beautiful projects!  Grab your own pack and create this card!

Cut the strips 1″ by 5″ and 1″ x 7″.   Then you’ll cut those diagonally so you have several triangles.  The base for the sunburst is 5″x 3 3/4″.  The black base is 5 1/4″ by 4″.  Lay out the rainbow and glue down.  Trim off the around the edges and mat on the black.

Stamp the girl from the June Stamp of the Month, A Bushel and A Peck S1806.   Color in with Shin Touch markers.

She’s darling.  While SG would never wear a dress, she reminds me of her with the crazy hair and sweet smile.  =)  After you color, fussy cut out leaving a 1/4″ border of white.  Mount on black and fussy cut out leaving black border.  Mount in the upper right corner of the card using 3D foam tape.

Stamp the sentiment “I love you a bushel and a peck” on white cardstock and mount on black.  Adhere to the card base.

Add embellishments as you see fit.  I found some red enamel hearts and left over Florence Sequins to use.   Love to see your rainbow cards!  To encourage rainbow projects, here’s a great workshop you can get free when you purchase $25.00 of product from my website:

Thanks for stopping by my corner of the internet.  Enjoy a creative day!

I Love You A Bushel and A Peck

I Love You a Bushel and A Peck

I love you a bushel and a peck…and a hug around the neck.  SG and I say this to each other often.  The June Stamp of the Month S1806 A Bushel and A Peck is very sweet and all of the sentiments are wonderful.

You can use this stamp set in September for the apples and school starting.  The girl is sweet and can be colored any way possible.  As I look at it, the pie and leaves can go into November as well.  Nice to have a set that will be very usable year round.

Use the Shin Touch Alcohol Markers allow you to color, shading and highlighting as you desire.  Coloring this way allows you to add depth to your images.  I love the price point on the markers, making them an affordable option.   The marker collection is a wonderful way to get all of them.

Remember this wonderful saying because everyone you love in your life needs to know this.

Have a wonderful day and be sure to tell those you love, that you love them a bushel and a peck.

Let’s Go Fishing

Let’s Go Fishing

I love this card and one of my card swappers, DeAnn B, created it.  DeAnn did an amazing job.   Looks so very simple on the outside, right?  When you open it, you get this:

Don’t you just love it?  It’s so fun and unexpected.  I’m working on a diagram and another card to post to share.  All the products used are from the Fresh Air Collection.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my corner of the internet.  Hope you enjoy the “Go Fishing” card.  =)

You Are Here

You Are Here

Here’s a card using the Fresh Air paper and some of the new stamps available in the SE2.  The set I used works with the “You Are Here” Cricut Cartridge.  The Design Space file is included in the post.  The US is cut from the You Are Here Cricut Cartridge.  The stamping done in Espresso along with the distressing around the edges of the map.

The sentiment above is in the You Are Here cartridge.  Below is using the font on the cartridge.  I cut it out three times, gluing the different layers.  The bottom layer is cut from the Espresso cardstock and offset to look like a shadow.  The technique is great, looks fantastic, but I don’t recommend it for mass production!  It might be drive you a little insane.

RIP and Some Fun Cards

RIP and Some Fun Cards

RIP to my laptop of 14 years.  It’s really amazing how you become so comfortable with the keyboard and how things are set up on one computer.  I knew that I needed to upgrade because my laptop’s hardware was too old for the new stuff coming out.  It’s hard to say goodbye to an old friend so I’ve just kept hanging on. Then we found this:

Somehow, after 14 years, it’s clear that the computer has been dropped or hit to break off a corner.  You can’t open it without substantially damaging the top part of the computer.  Which we had to do so we could backup all the information and get it ready to transfer to a new laptop.  Back to trying to blog on a phone!

In the mean time, I’ve created a few cards with the “Dad Is Rad” kit for fun.  My first card is a “Hidden Corner” card (instructions in my Linda Creates Special Peeps Customer Group):

Open it up and you get this:

My next card is a “Sliding” card (instructions will be posted in the group).  This is a simple, fun card which you can very easily make:

I used a few other stamp sets for this card.  All fitting to celebrate your Dad.  I did a FB live on my FB Page about this card.  You can catch that for more details.

May things to keep in mind:

Thanks for stopping by corner of the internet.  RIP to my old computer and hello to a new one.  Have fun with “Dad is Rad.   Have a creative day!

Classic Summer Bash

Classic Summer Bash

We had an amazing weekend and got a lot done around our house.  Flowers planted, outdoor furniture dug out and cleaned, and the patio swept and set up.  Look great and perfect for celebrating a weekend summer bash.  Are the tropical flowers beautiful?  I so miss being on Guam and all of the beautiful flowers you have there.

S1805 Classic Summer Bash is perfect for making the invites for a bash to welcome in the summer time.  =) Here is a great invitation to get the summer started.

It’s been a bit since we’ve had an invitation set and this is excellent.  You’ll be able to use this for anything you’ll need an invite all.

I love wood grain paper, don’t you?  Stamp the jar, then the ice cubes.  Stamp the cubes so they overlap the edge of the jar. Then fussy cut the jar out.  Stamp the lemons and cut out.  Put them on with one under the thin 3D foam tape.  A unique twist on this card is this:

The base is the wood grain with the invite.  The card part is the right side of the card where you can put a short note to each invitee.

The Free Stamp of the Month Kit when you buy the S1805 Classic Summer Bash Stamp of the Month for $5.00.

Enjoy this fun invite.  Get ready for a Class Summer Bash.    Have a wonderfully creative day!

While I’m up at the Memories Made Here crop, I’m sharing this cute Celebrate card made with Gimme Some Sugar and the April Stamp of the Month (SOM) S1804 Color Your Life.  My pictures are not the best here.  The Peacock Stitched Ribbon and Cork Shapes are so much fun to use.

Bashful Glitter Paper is used to add some bling.  I have used this paper more than I thought I would because it’s a pale pink and I’m not really a “pink girl”.  Prefer bolder, brighter colors to bring in happiness.  The softness of the Bashful color provides a very subtle, elegant look to cards and pages, which works well for babies, weddings, and more.

The sentiments in this stamp set are great.  Large enough to use for scrapbook yet usable as shown above for cards.  Some of the letters are designed to be colored, which is very popular right now.   You can see this in the free layout kit you’ll get when you purchase this stamp set for $5.00.

Did you know you can take the bottom border and use it to make baseball stitching?  One of the joys of acrylix stamps is they are flexible and you can create a curve in them when you place them on the block before you stamp.  I’m going to create a card showing this for Monday.  Using the same card design, you can change the look by changing the paper (part of the fun of two-sided background and texture papers)!
