Happy New Year!!

It’s a new year which means a whole new year of making memories!  Make all of those memories count by making commitment to capture your memories while you can remember them!!

This year, my goal is to make SG a “Mother’s Legacy” album for her.  As some of you know, I’m an “older” mother, having my first and only at 40!  This means, for the sake of future planning, I may or may not be around after SG is 40 years old herself.  So my good friend Teresa L gave me this wonderful journal “A Mother’s Legacy” loaded with lots of great questions and journal starters to help me remember things to write down so SG will have them when I gone.  Seems to be a morbid plan, but we never know when our last day on Earth will be as we’ve found out this year.  I want to make sure I’ve written it down while I have a chance and can remember things!!  Watch for layouts to come through out the year as I design this!!

I’ll probably use some Studio J and add creative embellishments to it.  I love the speed and ease of this Program.

I’m working on these cute, cute valentine’s gifts for SG to give to her classmates!

Aren’t they just precious???  Be sure to get yours before they are gone! I’m working on earning cruise points and I can earn extra points for every kit I sell!!  Check it out!!

Have a safe and wonderful New Year’s Eve and Day!!

Getting Back into the Swing of Things with Glitter!!

So as I’m recovering from surgery, I hobbled down to my office to play a little bit!  Bed rest sounds good for the first 3 days but you can go stir crazy quickly.   So I decided to play a bit with our glitter glues (X1769 – Bronze; Z1484 – Red; Z1313 – Stardust).  I played with make my own glitter paper and glitter accessories!

Add ink to the chip board – I used Champagne and Ruby here.

Then add your glitter gel glue!

Using a sponge, spread the glitter glue around.  Let dry.  Apply the second coat.  Let dry.  Add as many layers of glue as you need to get the look you want!!

With paper, you do the same.  Remember the paper will curl when wet.  Once dry, flatten!  Have a great time with this very, very easy tip!!

Dye vs Pigment Ink….which is best

had a lot of questions about our new pigment inks and when to use
them.  I love this video with Kristine and Monica!  Enjoy as they
explain which ink to use when.

More Christmas Cards!!

I love making Christmas cards!  Here’s the cards for the upcoming card workshop on December 1, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm. I’m using up all the extra retired papers around – the workshop is $23.00 for 15 cards with envelopes!  Come and have some fun with me.

Counting w/ Nov SOM + 50% off

Close To My Heart’s November Stamp of the Month “Capture The Date” is a great, versatile stamp set!  I decided to create some counting cards for my 4 year old to practice learning her print numbers and associating the actual physical objects (in this case, stamped objects).  I love using the little bird from “Perfect Fit Holidays” as the counter.  Our wonderful alcohol markers makes the coloring so easy.  I used our Glitz Glitter Gel – Bronze in order to create a tactile element on the cards to help her  with her touch counting.

You’ll  need the following supplies to create these:

Z1755 – Posh Journaling Spots

44751 – Archival Black Ink
S1211 – Nov SOM – Capture the Date
B1412 – Perfect Fit Holidays (works with the Cricut Art Philosophy cart)
Close to My Heart alcohol markers of your choice

Windows of the Heart

I really, really enjoyed making this Display Case to feature our new family pictures done by Allison (Memories By Allison).  I called it the “Windows of the Heart” because my Display Case reflects what’s important to me – my family.  When we got our new pictures in, we decided that it was time to update the family picture from the one of us and our pets (bc kid) to one reflecting us (only 4 years later)!  I love the Clementine papers in our Idea Book.  Using the some stamps, the Cricut Art Philosophy and Artiste cartridges, and some extra embellishments, I was able to create this.  My husband loved it so much, he asked me to make another one for his office!

I’m offering this as a class on December 8, 2012, from 12:00 to 3:00 pm at my house. Orders must be placed by November 24th to participate. Cost is $30.00.

Want to do this but are not here?  Place the order and your order will be shipped to you the Monday following the class, December 10, 2012.  Materials will be precut and stamping done!!
