Happy Easter!

I’ve just learned about listicles.  A list of 10 things….the topic can be anything and everything!  It’s been to read and learn about them.  So in the light that it’s Easter today, I made my very first listicle about why I’m grateful about Easter!

1) Grateful to be able to have the joy of watching my daughter on Easter
2) Grateful to be spending Easter with family members
3) Grateful to still be able to take a hike on the nature preserve outside my grandmother’s old home
4) Grateful to watch eagles fly
5) Grateful to be able to walk with my husband hand in hand
6) Grateful for the opportunity to help out my family in a time of need
7) Grateful for the being with people I love and who love me
8) Grateful for the provisions we have in our life
9) Grateful for an incredible meal that I did not have to cook
10) Grateful that I have the gift of Salvation through Jesus!

I created this layout with the April Stamp of the Month: S1304 My Sunshine and our wonderful Chantilly Papers!  It’s bright and happy which is how I feel today!

Some notes from listening to Stacy Julien:

While many of us dwell mental conversations in our head, convincing ourselves we are not creative, creative expression is everywhere.  Schedule time each week to be creative in some way. Cooking, organizing, appreciating the world around you, getting inspired by what’s important and enjoyable in your life.

1) Solve your own problems.
2) Be curious
3) Use your imagination
4) Take Risks
5) Don’t listen to critics (especially those in your head)
6) Practice Imperfection
7) Take care of you; Take care of your vision.

First step..

Hi everyone!

I’m over in Salt Lake City taking a great training/class on doing albums about ourselves.  I’m having to do the very uncomfortable part of writing about myself and documenting my life!  It was much hard than I thought it would be.  We had a guest speaker, Stacy Julian (Big Picture Classes).  We had heard Stacy speak at our National Convention last summer where she inspired me to start including myself into our scrapbooks.  I’m always taking pictures of everyone else and recording everyone’s else’s history, but not mine.
Well, this weekend, I went off to Salt Lake City to start creating a Legacy Album to start telling my story so SG will have it when I’m not longer able to be here with her.  Here’s the start of my story:

I got a great book from a friend when I first had SG – “A Mother’s Legacy”.  It’s a journal full of questions to answer about yourself.  You are suppose to complete the journal for your  kids.  I’m going to continue my album using this book as a prompt!!  I’m so excited to step outside my comfort zone and learn to do this.
More to come and classes too!!

Flowers and Stamps

We all have wonderful paper flowers and with the Cricut, you can cut more!  I found this cute little trip to spruce up your flowers – Stamp on them!!

Choose a stamp set – I’m using “Cup of Good Cheer” B1404.  Ink your stamps on your favorite ink pad – I’m using one of my favorites, Chocolate – Z2111.

Randomly stamp over the flower.

I added a few more extras – a red paper flower with a button tied off with our baker’s twine (Z1702).  Add to this cute flower to a card:

And you have a fantastic card for a friend!!  Don’t you just love our new glitter paper (Z1830 and Z1829) – I sure do!  It’s available now!!
